Hi folks ... back to action :bg3:
Image taken at Kuril Lake close to a river mouth .... when you shooting this sequence hard to realize how close they are coming during their hunt for Salmon .
But in the heat of the moment ... I did not think of the potential danger .
He got larger and larger in the frame .... finally too close for a good composition .
So I had to crop it from horizontal to vertical and add canvas to top and bottom to get a decent comp .

Canon EOS 1Dx II
EF 500 IS L + 1,4 TC
Tripod

F 5,6 ; Iso 1600 ; 1/2500 sec ; DOF is a bit short .... with hindsight

Processed with DT 4.6.1 and PSCC 2024 ; cropped for comp and added canvas

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous postings

Cheers Andreas

Some action indeed and the subject pops off the screen, I am once again happy to see the eyes are sharp, yes to more DoF but it's not too serious, he must have gotten close very fast... did you have to dash for safety?

Composition works for me here and positioning of the subject in the centre of the frame also. Good colours and tones. Great pose from the bear.

I would not change a thing here, would just like to just draw your attention to the slight banding at the top of the frame. Could be due to compression or maybe something to do with PP. Once again, it is quite faint and not a big bother.

Sadly I could not take the image into PS as internet is very slow, it took me ages to just get to view your image. Things will hopefully improve very soon with the arrival of fiber. Looking so forward to fast internet and unlimited data :bg3:

Hope you are keeping well:w3

Kind regards,

Thanx Gabriela ... yes the upper BG is a bit posterized , due to compression and a quick edit to the low res file
