I had a trip to another set up at the weekend. This one was up North in the highlands. It was the 'usual' set up with hazelnuts for the Red Squirrels, seed, nuts and fatballs for the woodland birds. And, a dead pigeon to attract any raptors in the area.

After photographing the squirrels and birds, including my first male Brambling, for a few hours, this Buzzard swooped in. At this time, the sunshine was filtered by the large trees surrounding me. He/she hopped onto different perches, so managed a few flight shots etc before the bird settled, then started to eat the pigeon. Gimbal Head. ACR and PS.

nice pose and I like the weathered perch, the BG is a bit too much distracting for me here

Nicely caught Will, good action. I am looking at the colours, I think there is a little too much magenta in the plumage.

Thanks guys. Your right Jon, I reduced the magenta and it looks better.

Hi Will apart from the magenta/red in the plumage a real cool shot , would love to have such opportunities here . We have plenty of buzzards .... but all are very very shy , and I have no found any option to get a set up done here . I might try harder in the future ...
Biggest problem for me is how to start such business ...:bg3:

Nice details showing up and top notch sharpness

Love the pose of the bird

TFS Andreas and well done
