The light was a bit steep by this point in the morning, but I managed this shot out the roof of our pop-top truck
on the 'Birding with a Camera' tour I lead Aug 19-27. A bit more bank would be ideal, but I thought I could
see enough of the two wings to make this a keeper.

Hi Dorian, I like the image, nice flight position. The bird is well focused, lovely colors. At the tip of the near wing to the viewer something appears funky. It looks like the green has been darkened and the mask missed the area between the feathers. Nice image, thank you for sharing.

Jesus, that's an awful miss on my part. Thanks for pointing that out!

Masking error aside, a fine shot Dorian, good light, detail and pose.

Went back to the original file and redid everything. If that masking error got through, who knows what else did as well! Darks a bit darker in this version.

Repost is better, it may be worthwhile taking some blue out of the black plumage, I suspect he detail would enhance slightly.

looks nice, good topside view of this raptor, nice BG colors too. I am OK with wing position but wish BG was all green

Nice image Dorian, personally a bit more in the colour, I do like the inclusion of the sky, adds context and interest to the backdrop.
