How nice of this gorgeous individual to bank and glance towards me just at the right moment while the light still had that early morning glow to it.

Canon R6 + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f/5.6, ISO 3200, cropped to help the composition, levels and saturation to taste, removed a bluish cast to some of the feathers, NR via Topaz.

Yes, perfect always works for me. The head up flight posture, a great look at the dorsal surfaces of the wings, and the sweet background and light all add.

Yeah, this immature plumage is highly underrated. I like how the touch of brown on the bird's back matches the touch of brown in the background. Really solid image.
