Hi Will ... very nice clean and simple shot of this species , glad they visited your set up -
Size of the perch fits well to the subject and the pose is good .
Overall color does look good likewise the exposure ... I do see where Jon is coming from with his pop/ contrast comment . Personally I would not add contrast ... I would just give the mid tones a bit more depth , plus throw more color to the BG ( personal taste ) .

Hi Will, looks cracking to me. Lovely clean background with a corker of subject with great detail, perhaps a simple Midtone curve, but if you want to kill your finer detail, stick some Contrast in, your call.
Think its one of your best.:cheers:

Really nice image! Knotty perch is great, and the details look really good. My only issue is the crop as I'd prefer a more traditional 3x2 to the squarish presentation.

Yes, as with the repost, I agree with Dorian. Otherwise it looks just fine to me. I try to stay away from boxy crops unless they serve a purpose.
