Hi folks ... just to keep the forum running :bg3: , before it does get closed for cleaning :t3

Image taken during the rut last September in the Hooge Veluwe NP in the Netherlands

Canon EOS 1Dx III
EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
Tripod

F 5,6 ; Iso 5000 ; 1/2500 sec

Processed with Capture One and PSCC 2023 ; cropped for comp from LHS as the composition was not ideal in capture . Too central the placement of the stag . Removed a hind on LHS as she had the head down in the heather ... which looked odd .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my last postings

Cheers Andreas

Another lovely image Andreas, nice light on the subject! That rack is very impressive :w3

Deer pops so well against the surroundings. Sharp with good detail, good pose, colours look great, lovely BG. Don't mind the almost central placement of the subject, still works quite well.

I like the vegetation in the FG too, save for the OOF bush in the middle. But so is nature, imperfect yet so beautiful...

Overall a nice image, a pleasure to view - lovely PP work Boetie!

Kind regards,

An impressive stag, mein freund. Lovely separation from the BG and good soft light.
Weird suggestion, but I think this is a good candidate for a square (1:1) crop...what do you think, little off the LHS?

Thanks Gabriela and Morkel ... good to see the SA connection back into business , hope you find time to breath some life into here :bg3:.
Glad you like the image .

@ Morkel .... I hear you with the crop / comp , but I am not a big fan of the square stuff .

Cheers Andreas

Super shot what a handsome specimen he is. A very natural looking scene - looks similar to parts of the Peak District in England.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful image with us. I can go beyond very few photographs. And this is one of them Andreas, I just watched with admiration. Congratulations.
