Here's another frame from Fort De Soto outside Tampa (Florida). It's a rare, low-angle flight frame I captured while standing in waist deep water. Large birds must go through a series of deep wing flaps and
contortions to get airborne, and I think this pose shows that process well.

Dorian you definitely caught this pelican trying to get airborne. For sure looks like they struggle to get lift off. I have them in Nd but tend to be pretty shy. Nice background colors and processing looks great and love that low angle perspective. TFS

One of your best, the action is caught very well, details look remarkably good.....why such a small image size?

Beautiful bird and shot. Your exposure, low POV, and PP make this bird look like a spotlight was on it. The detail on a white bird like this is impressive. You are obviously dedicated to get this type of shot-willing to stand in the water at dawn to get your POV. Really nice!

Great photo, perfect light and angle. Can see those drumsticks working hard to get lift off.
Maybe remove the blue cast on the trailing wing edge shadow.
