Here is another Bufflehead (we saw several) from my trip to Colorado. I liked that the iridescent colors on the head were better visible in this frame.

Nice frame Kurt, colours, composition, background, body position all top class. Looks like it could do with a tad more sharpening (at least on my screen)(?)

Looks awfully smoothed out Kurt, with no real detail to each onto????

I like everything here, but agree that it does look somewhat soft to my eyes (70 this year, so what do I know:e3)

Its a cracking flight shot Kurt...Love the colours in the BG....I would agree with Steve....the bird does look a wee bit flat....Worth re processing ....

Hey Kurt, great canvas. Love it coming in low and fast...
Perhaps there was a step in the transition that didn't take or something. I'm sure you'll revisit and nail it down.

Hi Kurt ... a killer flight shot , love it .
Would reprocess the whole thing , needs more tonal depth in the 3/4 tones and not the blacks :w3 , IMHO.
And needs to go sharper as it is too soft overall
Well worth to rework

Agree with the comments about sharpness and flatness. Love the pose and setting, so it's definitely worth having another crack at this to see what else you can extract.
