First post here in Macro, I was out looking for birds and came across a butterfly on a leaf (top photo), took a photo of it and when I looked again, butterfly was gone...looked around and saw this dragonfly about 3 feet away munching on the butterfly..lol.. dangerous life out there...no idea what the butterfly or the dragonfly are..but was happy with results using my nikon 200-400 close up hand held.

Interesting story, Paul. It's amazing what goes on right under our noses. The butterfly looks like a northern pearl crescent. The dragonfly is one of the clubtails - I'm thinking a black-shouldered spinyleg.
