Southern Ireland Hotspots?

I am traveling with my family to southern Ireland for about a week at the end of this month. While it is largely a family touring trip, I would like to work in some bird photography and was wondering if anyone could help point me in the right direction.

We'll be based in the city of Cork and exploring throughout Cork and Kerry. It seems like an area ripe for birding during the summer and it would be a shame to miss out on that. I've done some reading and browsing but am hoping to get some specific tips from local experts since I won't be able to dedicate a lot of time to it during my trip.
