**** - it's been a while since my last post. Between pet-sitting my way around the country (https://atailoftwositters.blogspot.com/) and leading
tours for Tropical Birding, I haven't slept in the same bed for more than 4 consecutive nights this calendar year. I've already visited/birded
NV, AZ, NM, CO, OK, TX, OK, KS, MN, MA and AR (currenly), and I'll be in TN, NC, KY, OH, MI, IL, IN, and PA before heading to Newfoundland
and Nova Scotia at the end of June. So yeah, busy!
I recently guided an 11-day grouse/chicken loop through Colorado and Kansas. It's tough to shoot on tour since I need to be spotting, identifying,
and pointing out birds to clients, but I was able to grab some frames on this amazing morning. It was hella cold, so my 5 clients were content to
sit in the heated van at this lek on private property. I, however, exited the vehicle and laid face down on the frozen earth for the hour leading up to
sunrise. As the sun cracked the horizon and the lek came to life, I was treated to point blank views.
