We were visited by a Glossy Black_Cockatoo family today. They are specialist feeders on the fruit of Sheoak trees (Casuarina and Allocasuarina genus).
This is the female feeding on Forest Oak right beside our back deck.

Man, I envy you such wonderful backyard birds. A beauty in a comical pose with head just clear of the tree on the left. Nice and sharp where it needs to be. TFS

Hi Colin, neat bird... I love the colors (I have only seen white cockatoos). I like the pose of the bird, nice feather detail on the head area. You must have been close because the depth of field falls off towards the tail. I like the image, thank you for sharing.

Pretty rare bird Colin .Very nice frame .There are a few others of these on Kangaroo Island as you would know. Endangered down there. Colour and action all in one . I like the fact that she is in her environment and puling everything to pieces as usual.

I like the open beak, the sharpness looks good where ti counts most. I do wish the frame wasn't as busy, but I guess this species is not easy to get out in the open. Nice work!

What a fun and happy-looking bird! Very good IQ on the face. Although a busy setting, we get a good glimpse of habitat. The orange tail is impressive.

Nice bird in habitat shot , you did well with the dark bird against the pale sky . They are really funny characters ... all of the Cockatoo species
And processing looks better compared to the close up .... by far :w3.
Wondering why the 600 kb does not play a role in this frame ???

You did very well in a difficult situation. The bird is pretty much perfect in all ways.
