Hi folks ...
just discovered a location for Muskrat , not far from home .
Personally I am not thinking , the Muskrat is the most exciting subject on planet earth .... but at least worth a couple of shots . Was standing in cold water for about an hour with just some thin Wellingtons .... man it was cold in the end .

Canon EOS R3
EF 500 IS L II
HH

F 6,3 ; Iso 25.600 ; 1/1600 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2022 ; cropped and leveled for composition .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous posting .

Cheers Andreas

The fur is well renered and tones fully displayed..... but why chop in in half... was it because he came too close/fixed lens?

Thanks Jon ... no other choice for comp or crop . Fixed lens and could not really move as I was standing in water and was happy to have a stable ground .... so I was somewhat limited .

Very good for ISO25K Andreas, this is where the flexible LCD screen comes into play and where you can get even lower!

Hello Andreas,

I like this very much, definitely worth spending time with the subject!

Super techs:w3 Beautiful detail and colours. Well framed and good exposure, nicely processed too, love the detail.

Very nice work, Boetie, I truly enjoyed viewing.

Kind regards,

Thanks so much Steve , Gabriela and Haseeb for your kind comments .

Agree we ( R3 and me at the computer ) did a decent job with this one , having the Iso in mind .

Cheers Andreas

This is what I was trying to convey in the Nuthatch comment Andreas, get the camera set up correctly, expose ETTR and PP is a breeze, but not trying to take anything away on the above images & PP. Also, it’s not all about the megapixel size too, it’s getting into that mindset that wasn’t achievable a few years ago, is now oh so easy, looking forward to seeing more, a great and cool project to work on!

.... was never afraid of pushing the Iso , only difference is , today it is way easier to create stunning results that can even go to a larger print . So what do we wish more ....
And 25 k is not the end of the world ....

And at ISO 25k, whole’s counting. However, now with the launch of the R3, the customisation and control of the AF creates even better opportunities, but… it’s achieving those in camera changes as Canon has buried one or two goodies. :bg3:

Could you be so kind to shed some light ... into my darkness :bg3::bg3:

It’s hard to explain Andreas as there so many different buttons you have to press to access. It’s not hyper critical as I think you have better AF OPTIONS than I do, where you can customise the areas of focus.
