Most of the fruiting trees in our local arboretum have red or deep red berries, but a couple of them are orange, so it was fun to see a few of these robins picking that matching tree for their feast!

Canon R6 + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/600s., f/5.6, ISO 3200, natural light, handheld, small crop to help the comp, contrast and saturation to taste.

Daniel, a great photographer can make the most plain species look great. You did that here!

Just love the color palette. The oranges and reds are superb and I agree, compliment the subject nicely.

The diagonal branches coming in the right and LLC frame the subject well and you did a great job to get its tail in the clear.

Great detail in the subject and can see your signature edits throughout. TFS!

Daniel:

I will echo Brian's assessment. Fun pose with berry, tail up, great eye contact.
I was pretty sure the image was yours when just looking at the thumbnails!

Glad to see you are enjoying the R6!

Cheers

Hi Dan, excellent time to capture the berry in the bill. I really like the color palette with the orange berries complimenting the breast feathers of the bird. I think the snow also adds to the image. Thank you for sharing.

The colors of the berries make this one for me. Nice job on the framing. Nice to see a berry in the mouth. I hope you had a retirement party for you 7D.
