I managed to capture this Male Wheatear during the breeding season, earlier this year.....This was from my vehicle...This bird kept returning to the same perch, but always flew away when I stopped.....After a few attempts I decided to change my tactics and free wheeled, as it was slightly downhill.....It worked... and I got a few shots off before he flew off...These birds will now be in Africa to spend the Winter months....ACR and PS2022

Excellent lighting, exposure, and detail. Tons of detail across the bird, including the legs. Curious head tilt is great, and the peachy BG works well with the bird. Post is what it is, but the bird is so good that we can overlook it.

Try this next time: Affix a nice stick to the concrete post with tape or ??? Just a few inches tall with lots of character. The bird will often return to the new perch before you get back to your vehicle.

Thanks for the comments guys.... and the tip Artie.....I should have said...the perch is a well weathered wooden fence post....With algae growing....

Super shot Will, I could also see a version with a little more pop if this is the breeding season.
