I went for a morning walk hoping for Barn Owl or Short eared owl, neither materialised, 2 Marsh harriers and a Hen harrier flew by - but too distant. As I headed home I saw this Stonechat on a fence post so I set the camera to Procapture mode and got several images of the bird in frame as it prepared to lift off and fly, this post is two consecutive images blended together. Just something a little different.

This is a fun shot. I originally thought you got two birds before I read the caption! Lighting is great, and I like the softly dappled background. Amazed 1/5000 didn't freeze the wings after liftoff, but I have very little experience with passerines in flight. Nictitating membrane on that bird is a bummer, but the dangling feet are great.
