I was messing around with Squirrels, when this rather bedraggled character flew in and perched for a few moments. Weather was dull, dank and wet, so so you can see, a lot of the plumaged flatted out.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Colours and details look good Steve...... hope your perch lasts a little longer than mine did!!

Thank you Jon, it will, I have a deterrent to persuade the grey not to come close. Might go for the Sparrow hawk again next week, if the weather is good.

Clean image and comp, and I'm digging the wet look and the slicked-back 'do.

Can't tell if the bird is mad or just thinking. Nice moss covered perch. Great background.

Very nice image.
Iso 2500.
You used no NR on this?
There is slight noise in the Bg, but if you used nothing, Congrats.

Dan, I use NR in LR at the raw stage which is the correct workflow.

Thanks folks, Dan C it’s been crap weather for a while, well apart from Switzerland last month, but it seems Autumn is already here. Certainly the Jay wasn’t happy and I needed less SS to get the rain, albeit, it began to ease off when this was taken.

Hi Steve ... I know not fair and maybe wrong , just prefer the cracking fine details rendered from your MK III images . And this images show the finest details perfectly rendered , IMHO.

Other than the wet look of the subject ... a pretty perfect output .

Nice perch , lovely BG and the stretched pose of the Jay is good . A pleasure to enjoy this nice frame .

TFS Andreas

Maybe you can work even longer within LR with the next update .... for more precise tonal and color work . Pretty sure you already know what is coming shortly .....

Thanks Andreas, whatever works for folks, no one programme is better than the other, well apart from PS, however they ALL have Pros & Cons, but who knows what's coming... :bg3:

Still can't get my hands on any raw files from the R3. :2eyes2:

I know what's coming ... but this will still not bring me to Mr Adobe :bg3: in terms of conversion . Am very conservative on that front .... and danish dynamite is still in my back asking to use it rather than the Mr Adobe stuff .
Agree with you that whatever works best for us is good ... on a personal base and preferences .

Regarding the R3 ... yeah we need to wait , me personally for sure longer than you . But I have no rush .... I am a bit afraid if this beast is not somewhat overkill with all the options it is offering to the users .
