Another 'dreich' day in the UK

A rather ironic title, considering the sweltering temperatures we are current experiencing over here in the UK, but I hope Will, will appreciate the title. A tad more DoF perhaps, but I doidn't want to loose the rain, I just find above f/5.6 they can get swallowed up into the BKG.

Jon A, the ID I think this is a female Chaffinch or even a juvenile, but can you confirm, I'm hopeless on names, apart from the Robin!:bg3:

Quite similar to our goldfinches in non-breeding plumage. I like the dreary rainy-day feel. The one drop closest to the face is too close though IMO, and it could be evicted. Sharp, good comp, nice BG. The top white wingbar is very white, is there detail hidden in there somewhere? Hoping you get a bit of relief form the heat!

Hi Steve, excellent angled pose captured here. You have brought out the finer plumage very well, and overall nice and sharp. A very good result for your high ISO. I'm not sure I would think of shooting in your rainy weather. :w3
