Photographing Gannets again recently, and this time decided to wait for one to fly across the setting sun on the opposite side of the pier. After a while I got lucky. Basic adjustments in ACR and PS, but the colours are as I saw them.

D500/500PF, 1/3200th sec@f5.6, iso1100, manual mode HH.

Thanks so much David & Kevin. Feedback appreciated. Just wondering whether a shot like this needs some foreground/background interest?
David: PMP? (post more please?)

A nice silhouette. I like the pose. I could see it cropped more from the top right.

Paul, I really like this. A simple yet boldly colorful frame and the Gannett appears nice and sharp around the edges.

Nicely presented!

Thanks so much John and Brian. I wasn't sure if it was too "simple" a composition...thought maybe some FG or BG interest might be needed, but glad you like it. Cheers.

Great pic Paul, think any foreground or background would be distracting, spot on as is

Hi Will. Thanks so much for the feedback. I've been back twice now to the same location and both times the adults made themselves present. They're all white with black feathers at the end and of the wings and yellow on the head. This is the first time I've ever seen them, so, now I have a few more to edit and post soon. Cheers.
