Another eastern passerine I can't see/photo here in California, so this represents a new species for my collection!

The perch is a bit much, but I couldn't get him onto anything else despite the use of audio. I'd like to see more
leg, but I think the lighting, feather detail, and background are enough to overcome that perched-caused issue.

Canon 600mm f/4 IS II + 1.4x III on EOS 1DX2
1/4000 at f/5.6, ISO 1250
Processed in LR CC with a quick/mild run through Topaz. Nothing added or cloned.

Beautiful. Agree with the perch and I know getting sparrow on good perch out in the field can a be challenge.

Dorian, this is sweet man. The lighting helped highlight the tones on this subject nicely.

I personally don't mind the perch and the lush greens with the bkg are pleasing to the eye. I might have traded a little below for a touch more up top if you had it; a very minor and subjective nit.

Otherwise, perhaps brushing just a touch off the sharpening on the back of the neck and top of head might be beneficial.

I don't mind the perch, it is not unattractive and the bird is perched nicely on it.

I don't mind the perch. The crop works very well. Killer background.

Great capture, maybe light was a touch too harsh in this one?
