Pelicans posing

Spent an hour or so watching these two Pelicans at a new location, hoping they'd face each other in a sort of symmetrical pose. This is my favourite from the shoot. I'm fine with the foliage across the birds.

D500/500PF, 1,2500th sec@f8, iso 500, manual mode, HH. Basic adjustments in ACR and Photoshop. Small crop only.

Nice pose and the foliage doesn't overpower them. You might consider cropping a bit tighter to cut out the isolated foliage left of the frame.

Just love this canvas overall. The close in foliage/rocks, then water, then trees, then hills, then sky make a beautiful layered backdrop for this interaction. TFS

Paul, I really like this frame!

The perch is really cool with all the grasses and flowers. I like the transition of the hills to the sky and of course, the interaction with the Pelicans, crossing beaks and both sharp.

I'm sure you checked the whites but they feel just a bit bright on the right subject (did not open in PS to assess). Otherwise, if you crop down at all, maybe just a bit from the URC but I like it as presented too!

This setting is fantastic. I love the inclusion of blue, yellow, and green. Even with those, our eyes go straight to the beautiful pink beaks. As I explore the birds from there, both whites and blacks look good to me. Details on both birds are super. Very well done, Paul.
