Looks like a least tern to me, or at least that's what they're called over here. Yes, tough to get them in flight.

Very simple frame Jon. Clean with nice sharpness and great wing position. I always find it interesting on these frames where the opposing wing gets lost - was he banking or just perfectly hiding vertically behind the anterior wing?

At a glance it feels like it could use a touch of warmth from my seat.

Sharp and technically perfect but this one does not move me. Not sure why. Perhaps the seemingly flat light or the fact that the bird was well up in the sky ...
