Same bird as before but farther away and without TC.

Stoked with the blue sky coming through the foliage at upper left.

Bird lured out of reeds with playback, as before.

I like this better than the first which I thought was excellent..Kind of surreal image of a wetland /swamp bird..Dreamy

I too, prefer this one. Love the blue in the BG as well.
I would love to see the next frame with the foot raised forward!

Hi Dorian, I like the background, the color and detail on the bird. I think if you had been higher the foot would not be buried in the sand. Like Gail wrote I would like to see the next frame when maybe the rear leg would be extended forward. A image of a bird not too often seen, thank you for sharing.

Another beautiful frame. Both posts are fantastic. What a great opportunity as these are difficult in open clean shots to be had. Yes would be nice to see the other foot. Do like the range of colors and nice to see that blue. TFS

Dorian, another nice one. Much prefer the bkg here but the pose on the first one wins from my view... as if one must pick....

Again, great dof and nice job taking advantage of the light.

I agree with Brian on this...like the pose better in the first one, but the BG in this one takes the cake. Great job once again!

Hi Dorian ... i prefer the previous image of this species .
For the simple reason ... the feet are almost cut off .

Sorry ... everything else looks fine .

Just one foot shy of perfection. A beauty of a bird and background.

Thanks you all for the comments and suggestions. Yes, I too miss the second foot, but there was no way I was going to get both given the rocks. Unfortunately, the bird turned its head away and ran right after this quick pause, so I don't a raised foot with the equivalent eye contact. Next time!

I don't know, but I think I pefer this one over the previous. Agree too low to get the feet clear. But still a great frame.
