I was walking along a woodland road, hearing Prothonotary Warblers high in the trees and out of range, when I suddenly heard one right at my feet. His unusual modus operandi was to forage along an old metal guardrail by a stream. Each time he came to one of the metal guardrail posts he would hop up on the post, raise his head, and give his "sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet" song. Finally he came to an old stop sign, and hopped up with prey in his beak.

Neat prey item. Head angle and the perch aren't the best. The OOF leaf doesn't help. Beautiful birds, one of my favorites.

Great bird and spider. Off-angled light kills it along with head angle.

Hi Bill .... very cool image in terms of subject and behavioral aspect with the caught spider .
Sadly the image has some shortcomings ... the biggest thing is the perch , IMHO .
HA might be not ideal ... but I could live with it .

I like it. Nice to see the bird on a unusaul perch. The spider is a big bous. What's not to like about green and yellow.

Beautiful Image. Like it. I am ok with the head angle and perch.
Prey makes it for me.
