Taken yesterday at the local bird sanctuary. This is a free ranging bird, that dropped in to visit for a bit. Always fun to try and work the back lighting at that time of day

Z6. 500PF, 1/3200s, F/5.6, ISO 640 HH.

Post in LRCC and PS2020.

Advice and comments always appreciated.

Cheers

I'm loving everything about this canvas. The contrast, the backlight and the action all superb. TFS

I like this.
Black against white is always appealing!
The brightness of the area below the swan's left wing is a bit strong. I might be tempted to clone the area with similar area from under the bird's right wing.

Well captured Randy....I think you handled the exposure well...This would look real good printed large...

Randy, sure is nice seeing something more artistic and different.

Nice bit of symmetry and the dramatic dark bkg really helps.

I too felt like the brights on the horizon were just a touch strong; not sure how much room you'd have to adjust in post though.

Only other suggestion would be to take a look at a version with reduced blues, esp in the shadows.

Thanks a bunch for sharing!

Thanks everyone for your input. I will take another pass at the highlight brightness. Don’t want them going gray however. This image begs for a black and white version which I will do as well.

Quite a graphic frame. The pano crop is nice as well.
