These guys don't usually come so close, but I sure am glad this one did! A bit of a surprise, and I was setup for action, but the wide-open aperture still turned out good despite the body falling out of dof range with the whole face sharp.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/4000s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld while lying prone on the ice, FF.

I keep coming back to look at this shot, just lovely. But I really do get the impression that the eye is a bit soft.
Dragged it into PS and tried a bit more sharpening and it did make a difference. A bit presumptuous of me the master of un-sharp posts :S3:
