I am fortune to have relatively easy access to this handsome raptors, this is an image from last fall. This is an adolescent harrier, it amazes me how close to the ground they can fly relatively slowly and still generate enough lift. this shot shows the typical habitat of this avid hunter

shot with A9II and 600 f/4 + 2X TC (1200mm). ISO-1600 f/8 at 1/4000 sec hand held processed with C1P. Looking forward to see how the A1 will perform in a couple of weeks, the bar is set high with the A9 II already.

Your usual perfection... wonderful look at this bird. Head position, wing position, and background can't be improved. Thank you for sharing, Ari.

hi,

I guess the rules of the game changed after A1. We'll see. nice angle and technique. congratulations.

This is nice, I would think the A1 will be a step up just due to the pixel count...

The past 2 two years have been so exciting as far as camera technology goes! Going forward it will be moving fast too! I suspect the day I upgrade to mirrorless I will never want to hold my 7DII in my hands again lol. Excellent image Arash - great light and that near wig looks perfect.

Thanks all,

Daniel any camera made in the past 7 years will put the 7D II into shame, you definitely deserve a better camera especially if you want to venture into action

Hi Arash, I reviewed their blog and tests. they are all valuable and full of labor There is something I wonder, can you produce the same photo with machines like 1dx x2 x3 d4 d5? The sharpness of the frame, what is the effect of the A9II on this photo. Of course you are an expert but I was curious to think.
thanks. </pre>

Hi Volkan, thanks for your comments. If I understand your question correctly you are asking if the same photo can be produced with the 1DX II/III or the Nikon D5. The answer in theory is yes, all of these bodies can make a tack sharp file if they nail the focus. I have posted many here myself.

The difference is in AF, the Canon cameras will struggle to keep the focus on the harrier and will miss about 70% of the shots with a 2X TC at f/8. The Nikon D5 is significantly better than the Canon's and will get more sharp frames but Nikon's 2X TC isn't quite sharp enough to render an image like this. You are limited to the 14X so the harrier needs to fly a lot closer. The Sony on the other hand can get 95% of the frames like this sharp even with the 2X TC at f/8.

hope this helps
