Another one of my son's photos. The eagle nest fell down in a storm, and the eagles immediately started rebuilding.

That is some serious foundational lumber there. Love the framing, though a little tight on top and bottom, the EXP could be raised slightly, the pose is superb. Sharp right where it needs to be. Lift the shadows a little more and sweet canvas IMHO.

That's a talon-full I'd say. Nice, intense stare draws our attention nicely.

I agree with David you could benefit from 1/3-1/2 stop of exposure. I'm good with the tree in the background but have you considered trying out a Denoise program such as Topaz? Could improve things I think.

Otherwise, might want to consider loosening the crop to give some room for the wingtips to breathe. It could maybe take a touch more sharpening as well.

I have to second everything that Brian said.
I also see some magenta fringing around the feathers. Easy fix in Lightroom. Just check the box that says "Remove chromatic aberration",
