I'm in love with this species. Definitely an Old World favorite of mine. Exposure looks great, and I like the view of the red vent.

For better or worse, the gripping foot steals the show. It is very prominent and the sharpest part of the image, so our eyes go their ahead of his comparatively recessed face.

Jon, another beautiful composition and well processed.

The head seems to be less sharp than the chest and foot unfortunately.

Is it a sliver of wood in its mouth or its tongue?

It's tongue - which has debris on it.

Hi Jon ... nice one .
I do like the overall color and tones , comp works well . Shooting angle might be not ideal ... but just a minor " issue " .
Sharpness falls off quickly , so I think the FP point was not on the head .... maybe an extra round will help , but not overcome the problem .
