Taken a few days ago whilst photographing Wood ducks and Jacanas. I think this is a hybrid duck... can't id it in any of my guides...but pretty common here.

D500/500PF, 1/2000th sec, f5.6, iso640, manual mode HH. Thanks for looking and commenting as always. Cheers.

Artie would call this a soup duck :)

looks pretty good, if mine I'd tone down the highlights a tad.

Thanks Arash...I did consider whether the contrast was a bit much too.

Paul love the water, waves and I agree with Arash too much in the highlights for me. TFS

Great water texture and reflection.
Repost looks good.
I would clone out the spots in the water in front of the duck. He is a "hard looking" dude!

Paul, this fella looks pretty haggard :-)

The super great reflection and slight wake gives it a boost for sure. I think pointing away from the light source can have slightly ill effects and in this case I think heading into the light would help the cause.

The RP dealt with highs nicely and it's certainly a better of the two!

Yes, this is a hybrid with some amount of domestic genes in it. Lighting is nice, and the patterned water really adds interest. Highlights look much better in the repost.
