this image is from last spring, the Avocet is in breeding plumage. Hope to get more of these this year


shot with A9 II and 600 GM + 2X TC (1200mm) f/8 1/4000 sec ISO-1600 hand held processed with C1P (almost full frame image, a bit off the right and a bit canvas added to the left) wish the neck's shadow hadn't fallen on the far wing. BG is the beach.

Nice size in the frame for a flight close-up... I would maybe just darken the very tip of beak so it appears sharper.

Not much to fault here, although I do agree with you about the shadow on the far wing. Excellent in every other aspect.

Great action, and I especially like the details on the scaly legs. Only wish is that the far/right wing was a tad lower and clear of the neck. These guys have very shallow wingbeats so its really hard to get them perfect. Processing and detail are as good as it gets.
