Polar bears can be rather 'nimble' at times, but also very cautious when the pack ice doesn't appear to be that stable, however not a problem here.

Retaining detail in the snow is so easy when shooting ETTR, but so many just let it go and it's just white ares of nothing.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Hi Steve .... really love the color rendition in this posting , so "realistic " !!!!!!!!
Nicely processed and I do like the bear step over the gap .
No so keen about high shooting position .... but we know , not possible to shoot low from a expedition ship when the subjects are in close range .
So you did well and made the most out of the options .

Andreas, you have to be there to understand how hard it is, even on this very small ship I know oh so well and certainly, NO option of being on the pack ice for obvious reasons. You would have had a far more challenging time if your trip had progressed. :S3:

Exactly .... my reason for saying , nothing one can do to avoid the high POV . Still wishing for a lower shooting angle :bg3:

Little to say in terms of critique - it looks superb. I particularly like the fright forefoot position, the head is less than ideal angle......... but it'll do for me!

A very nice setting. I like how we can see all that thick hair hanging off the front arm. Nice detail in the ice.

Really like the cautios position of the bear. The detail in the fur and snow is amazing. Looks like he is very focused where to place his next step.

They can be Dan, but one bear was tracked and swam over 900 miles in one go, so they are extremely happy in the water, they are just nurvous if something isn't stable!!!!!
