Another image from the Great Blue Heron nest at Lake Morton in Lakeland, Florida. It was a pleasure to watch these birds. The male would fly away to find a suitable branch/stick. When the female saw that the male was returning with a branch she had a bobbing motion and her excitement could be sensed. The male would hand off the branch/stick to the female and then perch nearby while she carefully place the branch into the nest, then he would fly off to find another. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Hi Joseph a really cool behavior shot !!!
Nice clear view to the birds ....
Tones are looking good with a good range of details .

Not sure about colors ... for me a bit too much of blue in the image ( even the twigs/branches in the tree are showing blues ) .

Hi Andreas, thank you for viewing and commenting. Looking at the image after reading your comment regarding the blue, you're right. Wow, like psychedelic blue...Not sure how it happened but I think I fixed it. Here is a repost.

Hi Joe, I really like your repost, excellent behavioral interaction and clear view of both herons and their stick hand off. Love heir fluffed plumes, the makings of the nest and the framing you chose, its very nice, well done.

A nice interaction. The lores on the bird facing us are very blue, Breeding plummage? Really like how that wing tip curls up. The repost is nice in terms of the white balance.

Hi Joe,

Beautifully captured behavioral display. Always amazing, though it's easy for them, how comfortable the nest looks when they finish construction. Like the repost.
