Yellow-bellied Sapsucker

Captured this image of a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker on a pine tree next to my driveway on Dec. 9, 2020. This was the first one that I can recall seeing. I wanted to show him at work pecking holes, plus showing as much of the feather patterns as possible. I do have images where you can see more patterns, and more red of the throat feathers. Interesting note is they eat the sap for the sugars, and any insect that might be stuck in the sap. C&C welcome.

These beauties come every year for winter(here in south Florida) and just freshen up their previous wells. You caught the perfect behavior with nice view of face. Love those feather patterns, Looking forward to more... TFS

I love these guys, and their rhythmic drumming! This one gets a bit lost in the tree bark, and I do wish for a better head angle, but Yes the feather patterns on the back, wings, and side look super cool here. Nice to a see a couple of sapsucker drill holes started as well.
