This could be a gift to his partner perched outside the frame, or it could just be a single feather he has plucked whilst preening which it was. A Reed Cormorant captured at my local pond early morning. Hopefully, just enough visible eye for this to work.

I like this a lot!
Great lines created by the neck and feather.
Nice, simple but beautiful image design,
Great BG and light. Blacks look good.
I could also see this with a crop that gets rid of the branch but lovely as is.

Love the red eye, the feather adds a lot of interest and also dig the perch! I wish there was a tiny bit more head turn, but it certainly doesn’t ruin this image. Great job!

All has been said so I'll add simply sublime... TFS

Super Stu love the exposure on the bird, I find the pose pleasing.
Nothing wrong with the branch but I wonder if it would appear to be a little less dominant if you toned it down some?

I like the pose and the feathers. That red eye pops nicely. Solid background.

I like the perch, pose, BG and feather makes the image. There is enough of the eye for me. Well done Stu.

Super Stu, lovely curves and the plucked feather has some stiff ruby eye competition! The blacks look wonderful with definition. Lovely almost oval dark grey/black spot at end of feathers really caught my eye. Keep em coming!
