Good to see you posting again. Lovely and sharp. This is a rare instance where I would have like to have seen a smaller aperture -- being on a tripod you had lots of shutter speed to give up. f/11 or even smaller might have sharpened the features of of the folded wing. Love, love, love the BKGR and the pose.

Excellent classic pose here, and I love the silvery clean bill. Good point by Artie - I don't worry about dof on front posing birds, but it helps stopping down when it's a back pose (or sort of like here). Awesome image nonetheless...I have a soft spot for nuthatches.

Just an awesome classic pose, sharp right where it needs to be, with killer light, perch and BG. TFS

Classic pose, nice BG, I think you could sharpen the face a tad.

Hi Jim ... love it .
Perfect comp with a bird doing it very well to look great as an image .
If looking very critical , you needed more DOF to have the bird completely in the focal plane . It looks like the sharpness tailed off very quickly ....

Nice work , TFS Andreas
