We don't get these visitors i Arizona very often, but this immature Spoonbill has been hanging out for a couple of months now.
Sony A9ii, 200-600mm with 1.4 TC. 1/6400 at f/9 ISO 800

Beautiful low angle view, Kurt. The double drops are dope! There's decent eye contact, and the colors are beautiful.

My main issue is that he's a bit tight in the frame. Curious if you have more room, particularly in front. I also think you might be able to squeeze out a bit more sharpness. It's almost there.

But overall a very pleasing image. I'd clone out dark blob/artifact beneath the bill, about 2" to the right of the droplets.

Agree on too tight. Love the double water drop. For me the big negative is that the bird's head is angled every-so-slightly away from us. Ever-so-slightly toward us is generally best. In addition, the placement of the shoreline is problematic. A foot higher or lower would likely have helped with that.

The double water drop is very cool and what makes this image unique.
Agree with more room left and bottom and with cloning out the blob to the right of the droplets.
I am so envious of your arizona light. I have never ever shot an image at 1/6400 F9 in Nova Scotia. Way to dark and dreary here and even on sunny days I would never have this amount of light. I am jealous!
With a few tweaks this image will shine!

Kurt, this is just a very pretty canvas.

I've never been fortunate to shoot a RS, but it appears you captured this one nicely.

I get the feel the subject is looking slightly back at you and I always give a little grace to such when the body is pointed away.

POV is really nice and love the drips.
