Image captured in Botswana near Duma Tau camp in 2018. While looking for another bird in this folder, I happily came across this beauty. C&C welcome.

D500, Sigma 150-600mm @ 600mm, 1/2500s, f/6.3, Handheld, ISO 3200.

Hi Geoffrey, this canvas is really pretty.

Getting a sweet camera acknowledgement in the environment, with the grasses all around, and the crest of the red beak coming through all are fantastic.

I know you're a fan of keeping things a little unsaturated and granular, but I'll offer up anyway that I think it's a bit flat and could benefit from noise reduction. Might also consider evicting the two stalks coming out from top of its head.

Great composition!

What a cool bird, I don't recall seeing this species before. Glad you found it in your folder! Good stuff from Brian, and I agree fully.

Lovely image, Geoff. The bird is gorgeous, the tufts of grass add a lot of interest. Nice colors and detail on the bird. Thank you for sharing.

The first time I saw a Hadada Ibis was on the hotel grounds in Jo'burg and I was so pumped to see my first "African" bird!
I like the grasses because it gives image a nice wispy (pardon the pun!) ethereal feel.
I would evict the 2 horizontal grasses- they pull my eye away.
Nice that the eye and bill are clear. Agree with Brian about evicting the 2 grasses above the head, but to be honest I never noticed them because the horizontal grasses grabbed my eye so strongly.

Very nice Colors.

I looked at the image immediately look like D500 and it was based of Noise. I would clone out a couple of grass coming on the top of the head.

I wish for slightly better detail on the bird, but I do like the beak and the eye.
