Captured this recently arrived Savannah Sparrow a couple of days ago at the same grassland area I was seeing all the Bobolinks. C&C welcome.

D500, 500mm PF + 1.4 TC, 1/500s, f/8.0, Handheld, ISO 2500.

Removed a couple of small distracting offshoots from the main bramble in cs6.

A lovely looking Sparrow, I wish the beak wasn't overlapped by the perch. Nice BG and thorny perch.

I like everything except the beak intersecting with the branch. Nice BG.
I am guessing you must have one with the beak clear of the branch?

Yes, that bill hidden behind the perch is unfortunate. Neat perch (albeit noisy), and BG. I like the visual play between thorns and claws.

Beautiful colors from our local grassland. (BG definitely needs some NR.) It is too bad he hid his beak behind the rose stem.
