What a lovely image Marc! Its so difficult to capture all of them looking the same way and you were lucky and timed it well to get this in superb light. Those OOF acacia trees add interest.

What an eye catching image - no pun intended but my eyes go to their eyes - magical light just beautiful. The composition is also excellent - really like it!!

LOve the light and the 4 sharp subjects in the frame.
So great to see them all looking your way.
I would make this a bit more of a pano-I feel there is too much empty space above the trees and you are a bit tight on the RHS. Do you have more room on the right?
Love the acacia trees and the way they go from larger to smaller moving from the center to left.
I love an image that moves my eyes around a frame.
Lovely!

Many thanks Sanjeev, Jonathan & Gail.

The pano certainly works as well Gail, it's just a simple preference for my 2:3 crop ratio, no room on the right unfortunately as this is F/F as indicated in my OP.

Here's a less slightly cramped (pano) version just minutes earlier when they first spied the Thommies.

Fantastic frame Marc. Loved the positioning of the Cheetahs in some lovely light.

Loved those trees in the BKG, adds to the overall image. This is nicely scene and captured.

Loved both the images. But first frame is better because of that stalking pose and second one is better in terms of placement of trees.

Nice one, TFS !

I like the second image best but agree with Haseeb that the stalking pose of the cub of the OP is wonderful and would be nice in the repost.
I am really loving the acacia trees in the repost. You sure do need a sensor cleaning !! I realize you quickly posted the second image so I am just teasing you!
Would love to have both images in my portfolio.
I have been to Africa 4 times and only once saw a cheetah. He was lying in tall grass and slept the entire time we watched him! No good photos from that sighting...

Agree, I needed that positioning with the slightly better golden light and stalking pose. The 2nd post was just for comparison as to what "might have been" :bg3:

Yes,I posted the 2nd one "on the hop" before cleaning up the BG. All my bodies get sent out for cleaning after each trip, especially in the dusty environment of Africa.

Looks great. Nice view of all four cheetahs. Sweet light as well. Nice to see the environment in the background.

Super cute and a very special sighting, Marc. Techs look good, positioning of the subjects in the OP works well, perhaps a tad more at the bottom if you have it. Love the landscape with the trees in the BG, light is really sweet:S3:

Hi Marc .... lovely to see the Cheetah family .
I would prefer the second image ... just because the BG is so much nicer .
