Riding along on my evening biking and birding trip, spotted one of my favorites right in the afternoon sun about 1 hour before sunset with shaded water behind. Stopped the bike well before I got there and crawled behind guardrail till on the sun and slightly off angle to alleviate bigger vegetation. Kept praying, "Don't fly... Please don't fly...". With the guardrail for a blind this beauty stayed put and gave just what was imagined...

As always, thanks for valued inputs on previous posts. Please keep them coming.

Beautiful and unusual image I like the dark background with the few grass blades too.

Yes to the lovely bird -- it could be a guy -- and the dark BKGR. Head angle is about 1/2 degree turned away. I too like the grasses but for the right-most one that impales the breast and protrudes from the back.

Looking good David...That dark BG sure shows the bird well. Agree with Artie on the HA, but it aint too bad.

Nice shot with the dark BG making the bird pop. The red eye is cool.

The dark background makes this one. I like the framing. Love that red eye.
