Pacific Black Duck chick looking cute, so naturally I had to take a shot.

Beautiful details, including soft feathers, colors and tones. I like the painterly BG and the perch as well. Perhaps a sliver off the right to move this cutie a little further from center. Love this canvas as is though. TFS

Hi Paul, a cute subject looking a little perilously perched. :S3:

Overall it's too bright, with some whites in part blown, visual it looks right on the wire, but on the face and body there is no tone, what's the raw like? I would drop the exposure by a third of a stop and then bush in some negative exp in parts, then you get more 'form' in the fluff ball. Again, selectively darkening the legs brings more detail out, plus some selective USM. Agree with David on a tad more to the left, but loose the rock BLHC. Watch your shadows in the rock, plus some exposure in there to open up the shadows.

Yes, way too cute!! Just bring down the overall levels (while protecting the shadows on the rock and that one shaded toe), and you'll have a real winner here. I love the wet look on the little guy :-)

Daniel/Will. Thank you for the feedback.
Steve: Thanks for your keen eye and suggestions. I decided to re-edit from scratch implementing your suggestions. I do think it looks better now. Cheers.

Paul, I think this frame has many fine qualities. Getting the chick on the rock perch, isolated with the given bkg is great.

And you got some fine details too, processing looks solid on that front.

AFA the orig vs repost, I might prefer somewhere in between but could take the repost for sure.

TFS.
