Out and About

While my companion and I waited patiently and quietly by the hyena den, one by one the clan members started coming out. They were many. Two little cubs sniffled the air but decided it was not safe enough to exit. One of the adults went back to check on the little ones while a brave youngster came to investigate:bg3:

Hi Gabriela -- Your passion for this specie directly translates into their images. Such a fine image with superb IQ and lovely low POV. I liked that soft muted colours and that sneaky look by the Hyena, as if it is upto something.

I also liked the way those legs are positioned , forming a "M".

Very nicely done.

Talking about passion...Well, it started with the lions. And then brown hyenas. Then leopards. Then spotted hyenas. I have now fallen in love with the Wild Dogs too :tinysmile_shy_t:

Hi Gabriela, cool capture, I like the apprehensive look and 'crossed' legs at the front, perspective works, but a tad more above would be nice.

With the pup slightly moving more SS (1600-2000, you have the ISO) and probably a bit more DoF ie f/6.3 , as I feel all of the head needs to be all in focus, but it appears little soft, I'm guessing FP was around the neck/left ear as viewed? Using some simple luminosity masks, (or calculation), does bring some Tonal range back in Gabriela, - time for some homework. :w3

Marc, I have only had very few opportunities to spend time with the WD, previous encounters were just too brief:S3:

Steve yes, of course, I will add some canvas at the top, this is FF :tinysmile_shy_t:. Shot a number of frames at various settings but chose to work on this one because of that cute look, will check what else I have on this chap. Will check FP, I usually delete if not between the eyes. And work on that tonal range:bg3:

John, glad you noticed how the feet touch. By the way the footprints of the forefeet the Spotted Hyena are larger than those of the hind feet, this is because of the heavy built forequarters.

Lovely shot Gabriela but it looks a little flat to me, here is one to consider - maybe I have made it a little to contrasting but I think a little more depth and tonal expression is needed?
