Bottlebrush heads (inflorescence) are interesting to look at. The spikes and pretty long - 1-2 inches compared to other grass spikes. They are also arranged perpendicular to the round stem at various angles, making them look like just what the name suggests. This is a bit past prime, but one can see a floret in one of the spikes. I left the spider web as it is just to show what kind of habitat it provides to the spiders. It is backlighted, so the dark background was further darkened. Lastly, I wasn't happy with the color version as there was a wide tonal variation, so I converted to B&W in Nik Silver Effex pro.

Great idea and it works well - really like it! I must try something like this myself!
