Found a shallow spot in the middle of the South Platte River that feeds into Chatfield Reservoir earlier this week where some Goldfinches were bathing. I was braced to shoot as they were landing and next thing I know this beautiful Western Bluebird showed up for the party. A bit of good fortune really.

I personally found this frame super pretty and love all that it brings but I know some will call out the oof branch in the fg. What say you, does it take away from the image too much?

Could easily crop in closer to get just the bird but would miss the environment.

I love everything about this canvas as is. Love the balance (and strong diagonal) of the OOF flower, the main subject and then the water bed with rocks and vegetation. TFS

Nice image Brian...The habitat looks great and makes the frame very 'natural' looking. I don't mind the oof in the foreground...In a way, it actually adds to the frame. I may come in a wee bit from the LHS, but leaving the tall flowering plant in. Good pose on the bird with a great POV.

Excellent capture of this great looking bird. So much to like about this frame. That you included the ripples and reflections in the water on the right in the background is really nice. I think the branch up front adds interest to the image. Great low point of view.

I like the setting. Only thing i can think is to crop from the right a little more. Nice pose and low angle. The flowers on the left are a nice touch.
