.......except when they spread open their wings! I don't often press the shutter when the subject is looking away, let alone when no eyes are visible, but here is one instance where it was well worth it IMO.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp after some image rotation, a few bits of vegetation eliminated, highlights on the wings toned down.

Beautiful ducks. Love the colors. The low angle is nice. The framing works very well with the duck centered. Great pose.

Yep, no eyes needed when these beauties get out those wings. I love the way everything is creamy, colorful and OOF except the subject. TFS

Beautiful frame Daniel. The symmetry is perfect centered in frame here, offset just enough by the oof gras clumps.

Dreamy feel with the silky water and fantastic gradient. Love it.

Beautifully processed, the duck looks good and I am really taken by the softly detailed surroundings.

Looking real good...who needs the eye, when you have beautiful colours like that. Lovely frame.

Thanks everyone!

Hi Artie, it was sunny, with a thin wisp of clouds over the sun. This actually saved me as it was getting too harsh out there. I went home after this:bg3:.
