This Australasian Grebe was spotted at a new location for me. Would liked to have got lower but it was not possible due to tall grass and raised ground.

D500/500PF, 1/1250th sec, f7.1, iso500. Comments/feedback always appreciated. Cheers.

I like the exposure and framing, it looks very much like our little grebe or dabchick.

Cute little grebe. Sharp. Perhaps a bit more "punch" and saturation? It is also swimming slightly downhill, therefore a bit of CW rotation would be good here. A couple of water beads add some interest, and the higher vantage point gives us a good look at the reflection.

A nice look at this grebe, lower angle would obviously be better, but the details are nice.

Love the EXP, SH and color in this little beauty. Yes to slight rotation as suggested. TFS

Nice to see the reflection. A neat looking grebe.

Thanks all. Funny...I applied a little ccw rotation to the original so as to have, what i thought, was a level view. Maybe too much. I'll fix it...cheers.
Daniel: Looks "punchier" on my monitor...will go back and review. Thanks.

What a sweet little bird.
Agree with your wish to have been able to get lower.
Agree with levelling.
Bird itself looks gre4t with nice details. I have seen this bird IRL and I think your colors are spot on!

Thanks all for the further feedback. OK...levelled and more "punch" added. Thoughts?

Hi Paul....Lovely looking bird, similar to our Little Grebe. I think you have overdone the repost...something in-between the two would work.
