this is an adolescent female harrier, she stays in the nesting ground for the first winter after which she will move on to claim a territory of her own...not sure if this one survived

shot with the D5 and 600 f/4 E FL + TC-14E III ISO-800 f/5.6 at 1/4000 sec hand held processed with C1P hope you like it

Nice pose from a nice low POV. Love the complimentary colors. TFS

All looks good from where I'm sat Arash!. As much as I love the flight stuff, I tend to be more drawn to shots with a little environment in them , so the nesting area is a bonus for me, especially with the wing spread and the head sngle

Techs great as expected

I have never seen a harrier in this position before so well done for such an unusual pose. Lovely colours and detail - super shot and an ideal angle.

that is the roosting area Mike, they collect some twigs and build a small cushion for themselves

Arash:

I also really like having the background to give the image depth and context. Great wing spread, liking the diagonal of the wings and legs, works well in the frame.

I might soften the dark slash in the background above the head

Really nice

Great dynamic shot with good habitat. A bit different from your usual fare, and equally excellent. I hadn't noticed the dark spot until Randy mentioned it, but agree it could be tamed.

Wonderful take off capture, Arash. Like that the talons are still touching the dried twigs and grasses.

The super browns, the bird, background and grasses all working together. Wonderful capture, Arash. Thank you for sharing.

All looks good (light, pose, IQ) but for the dark line in the BG above the harrier. Easy fix! I would also be tempted to clone out the tip if the dark grass intersecting with the wing.
