So many of the birds I see during this time of year look a little "threadbare". This is such a handsome bird when in full breeding plumage. I really like the background, and his expression. The feather detail on breast and head is terrific. Too bad his crest is OOF. Maybe f/8.0 might have helped. You must have been close to him.
