I like the open mouth. The frame looks a little bright to my eyes. The bird is nice and sharp.

Dan, love the title :bg3:
I just shot a Grosbeak this week and while they do have choppy front feathers, the chest feathers are much softer in mine. This one appears a bit coarse to me, albeit great detail. I am learning that contrast can affect it too.
The colors in the bkg are fantastic and I am good with the perch. The suggestions by others are sound too.

Exposure, detail, and light are all excellent. The perch isn't perfect but it works for me. My biggest issue is that the bird is crammed into the lower left portion of the frame. The compact crop is not my favorite.
